The Board of Trustees is the governing body of the organisation and is responsible for ensuring that the programme delivered by Generation Vote is high-quality, non-partisan, and engaging. Together they have considerable experience in civics education and political studies.

LAURA ANDERSON (BOARD CHAIR)

Laura (Ngāti Whakaue, Te Arawa, Tainui) graduated from Te Whare Wānanga o Ōtākou - the University of Otago in 2019 with a Master of Politics. She has been involved with Generation Vote since its beginning in 2018. She works in the public sector. Laura has previously worked for the Electoral Commission and the Ministry of Justice.

Laura was the Director of the Otago Branch in 2019.

Francesca Dykes

FRANCESCA DYKES (SECRETARY)

Francesca graduated from Te Whare Wānanga o Ōtākou - the University of Otago in 2020 with a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Politics and a Bachelor of Laws. She has worked in a variety of roles focussed on fostering youth engagement with politics and government, including as the Political Representative for the Otago University Students’ Association and previously worked for the Electoral Commission. Francesca currently works as a lawyer in Resource Management and Māori Law.

LISA NGUYEN (TREASURER)

Lisa graduated from Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington in 2024. She studied law, politics, and international relations. After being part of Generation Vote for over two years, One thing that has kept her coming back for more is the awesome community of passionate young people who also believe it is crucial young people are empowered and engaged in the political systems of Aotearoa.

Will Dreyer

WILL DREYER (EDUCATION)

Graduating from Te Whare Wānanga o Ōtākou - the University of Otago with a Master of Politics in 2020, Will is a PhD Candidate in Political Science at Te Herenga Waka—Victoria University of Wellington. His thesis examines the policy impact of Parliamentary select committees and their responsiveness to public submissions. He has worked for the Electoral Commission and tutored political science at Victoria University.

Will was the Director of the Otago Branch in 2020 and the Director of the VUW Branch in 2021 and 2022.

WILL MISSEN (DIRECTOR, OTAGO BRANCH)

Will is in his fourth year of studying at Te Whare Wānanga o Ōtākou - the University of Otago. He’s working towards a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Philosophy, Politics, and Economics and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences majoring in Genetics and Human Reproduction. As a fresh face to the Generation Vote Otago Executive in 2023, Will is looking forward to making a difference in local communities.

DIANA MILNE

DIANA MILNE (DIRECTOR, VUW BRANCH)

Diana is a graduate policy analyst in the public sector and a part time Master of Public Policy student. She recently completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and Public Policy. She has worked as a Parliamentary Intern and Communications, Research, & Policy Assistant in Parliament. She is currently a co-chair of the Wellington City Youth Council.
