The VUW Branch of Generation Vote is based out of the Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington. They are responsible for organising and delivering our education programme to classrooms on a week-to-week basis.

DIANA MILNE

DIANA MILNE (BRANCH DIRECTOR)

Diana is a graduate policy analyst in the public sector and a part time Master of Public Policy student. She recently completed a Bachelor of Arts majoring in Political Science and Public Policy. She has worked as a Parliamentary Intern and Communications, Research, & Policy Assistant in Parliament. She is currently a co-chair of the Wellington City Youth Council.

REWA WALKER

REWA WALKER (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR)

Rewa is a fourth-year student at Te Herenga Waka | Victoria University of Wellington, studying conjoint degrees in law and environmental studies. She works part time teaching an environmental education program, and always looks forward to time spent in the classroom teaching about important kaupapa. She considers engaging young people in politics vital for a healthy democracy.

ELENA WOOD (SECRETARY)

Elena is a fourth year student in Law and Arts, with a major in International Relations. Her favourite part of civics education is hearing students’ ideas about politics and getting to facilitate class discussions.

LISA NGUYEN (TREASURER)

Lisa is in her fifth and final year studying law, politics, and international relations. After being part of Generation Vote for over two years, one thing that has kept her coming back for more is the awesome community of passionate young people who also believe it is crucial young people are empowered and engaged in the political systems of Aotearoa.

ANNA HILL (VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR)

Anna is in her fourth year studying Law, Political Science and International Relations.She is a part of Generation Vote because she want to teach young people about civics education, so they can confidently navigate and participate in our political system.

WILLIAM YAN (VOLUNTEER COORDINATOR)

William is in his 3rd year studying a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology and Psychology. He is a part of Generation Vote because he thinks that it’s inspiring to give young students a chance to understand what civics is, regardless of who they are.

ELLA STEPHENS (VOLUNTEER DEVELOPMENT OFFICER)

Ella studies Public Policy, International Relations and Political Communication. She joined Generation Vote because she considers it an important cause and she loves helping young people to be educated about civics and feel empowered to get involved in their communities.

HELENA PALMER (COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER)

Helena is in her fourth year of studying Law, Political Science and History. She is excited to return to Generation Vote because of the incredible kaupapa of encouraging youth civics engagement, including seeing young people engaged with our content in classrooms and across our platforms.

ELLIOT DAVIS (EVENTS OFFICER)

Elliot recently graduated with a degree in Political Science, Public Policy, and International Relations. He has been involved in Generation Vote since 2022 and loves being able to go into classrooms and educate young people as this is a crucial area he was never told about.

OLIVIA TRASS (COMMUNITY LIAISON)

Olivia is a Communications, Marketing, and Politics graduate from Ōtākou Whakaihu Waka. They were born and raised in Wellington and got interested in New Zealand politics as a teenager thanks to living so close to Parliament. Outside of Generation Vote they work in community engagement and partnerships for the Electoral Commission, supporting under-represented communities to engage in civics.
